100 Songs To Get Through Life

29 Apr

I decided to collaborate with some musically inclined people in my life and we are trying to create a list of songs to help anyone get through life. These songs are joyous, sad, hard, angry, empowering. These are the kind of songs that you yearn for when you’re in that moment that feels like no one else has ever felt. [Added 11/27/12] So far this process has taken me 7 months to get to 92 songs, I have posted the list on social media sites and asked for input, I have thought about songs that truly touched my heart, and made me feel like someone out there knew exactly what I was feeling, or how to say the words that were just on the tip of my tongue. I’m so proud that this list is almost finished because it has inspired to me to make more, and perhaps more categorical. I was inspired to make this list from a snippet of, One Tree Hill where Peyton believes she may die during the course of her unborn childs early life, she is so fearful that she compiles a time capsul of sorts just in case, and one thing in there is an Ipod complete with 100 songs to get through life. She says, that if she really isn’t there, all her daughter needs to do is listen to this playlist and the answer is there. That is something I have tried to replicate here, that regardless of your situation, somewhere in this list is at least one song, one line of a song, to make you feel connected.
